A summer bob hair cut for a princess

Poor Avery inherited my hair. It’s blonde and fine, which means it tangles easily¬†and looks stringy more often than not. I’ve been wanting to cut it into a bob, and for months, she resisted. “Princesses have long hair, Mommy,” she would tell me.

Something changed when we met a sweet three-year-old named Abby at the pool on Sunday, and she had the cutest bob haircut. I pointed out that her hair looked like Avery’s cousin Kasey’s. Then I brought up the idea of a hair cut again yesterday, and she agreed to go shorter.

Chase is one of the few men who actually likes short hair, so he was fine with it. I’ll admit, the first pieces the lady cut seemed way too short to be a “medium bob,” which is what I told her to do. I nearly cried. I wondered what I’d done to my child. Then she finished it, and (if I do say so myself) Avery looked adorable. Not only will it be easier for summer, but it just fits her personality. Our sassy little princess can rock a bob, and the tiara still fits just fine.
